Introduction

I finally got my own blog. Wasn't sure what to write on my first post so I got some ideas from one of my friend's post. So Marie, sorry for paraphrasing you. Hope you don't mind.

I was born in NYC and have lived here most of my life, except for the 5 1/2 years I lived in Puerto Rico between the ages of 7 and 13; I missed NYC terribly then and day dreamed about NYC with such longing and nostalgia. Was so happy to return to NYC.

I have been living on my own for the past 6 years. Though my life hasn't been easy, I love NY and can't think of leaving it to live somewhere else permanently. I would miss NY so much. I love the mixed cultures, the food, the shops, and the craziness of life in general. To me NY feels like home. But I will probably have to leave it someday, if things don't improve for me. I might end up going back to Puerto Rico to live with my retired parents. It's going to be hard to be away from my NY friends/my spiritual family. Having to transplant your life somewhere else is not easy. We have to make new friends, establish a routine of everyday life, and learn to be on your own completely. But I know it'll be another growing experience.

I wish I could stay in NY near my friends, but a lot of my friends are also leaving NY :(. Many are moving to Florida. I can't imagine myself living in Florida. I hate the heat and high humidity, and I'm afraid of all the storms and hurricanes. And don't like so much flatland. I'll rather live in Puerto Rico, but I'm scared of living in such a tiny island, the tip of a dormant volcano surrounded by ocean waters.
